James and Andrea Warburton, high school sweethearts from the Adelaide Hills, have built a life together with their four young children in Chapel Hill. Andrea, a makeup artist, focused on family while James spent a decade growing Solar Wholesalers into one of Adelaide’s leading solar companies.
In 2021, alongside friends the Bartsch family, they purchased the renowned Schuberts vineyard in Lobethal. James embraced farm life—driving tractors, moving cattle, and tending the land—which naturally led to their next venture: winemaking.
With deep ties to Mylor and the local cricket club, James turned to Kym Milne for guidance. Their shared vision led to their first harvest in 2024, with a focus on respecting the fruit and meticulous processing. The result? Their Gris, Sparkling, and Pinot Noir are now bottled and ready to enjoy.
Excited for what’s ahead, the Warburtons have just planted their own vineyard at home, marking the next step in their winemaking journey.
